My name is Lorri Bender and I am the School Assistant for Desert Heights Preschool. I have worked over twenty years in various child education programs and support teams. Currently, my duties include greeting families at the front desk in the early mornings, planning, preparing, and serving our nutrition program, as well as assisting classroom teachers throughout the day. I have been married for 31 years and we have three children, two of which are married and starting families of their own. Our daughter is a teen and keeps me very busy. We put our greatest value in faith and family, continuing to have family dinners with everyone once a week to reconnect with each other. I enjoy continuing my education and seeking inspiration to enhance my life experience. I have a certificate from GCC in Family Life Education and will complete one for Nutrition for Fitness and Wellness this semester. Through these classes I will be able to further facilitate children and their families to create stronger bodies and relationships one healthy habit at a time. Nutrition for children has become a focal point in our society as we struggle with the obesity crisis as a nation. A healthy mind, healthy body, and healthy soul lead to healthy relationships. I am excited to see the changes in our preschoolers throughout the school year and getting to know their families for a lifetime of memories.
